Dining Tables Sydney

Pick the dining table by the room first and the look second. Ours run from 90 cm round tables for a small kitchen to 2.4 m tables for a crowd, in solid timber, timber framed concrete, marble and sintered stone tops, with extendable and round designs, plus outdoor dining tables and bar height tables.

How big? Allow about 60 cm of table edge per person and 90 cm between the table and the wall so chairs slide out. In a Sydney apartment a 120 cm round or a 150 cm rectangular table seats four to six and leaves a path to the balcony; in a house with a separate dining room a 180 to 220 cm table seats six to eight and an extendable table takes Christmas. Which top? Solid timber shows real grain and can be sanded back after years of use; marble and sintered stone are cool, heavy and wipe clean, and sintered stone shrugs off heat and red wine where marble wants a coaster. Timber veneer costs less and stays flat in a hot room.

Care. Wipe spills the same day, use mats under hot dishes on timber, and keep every top out of direct sun. Finish the set with dining chairs, a bench, or a complete dining setting sold as one.
